Always be mindful

Hey All

It's been a while since I've done one of these, but it feels like its about the right time to write one. As the title says, Always be Mindful.....Mindful of what you may ask? Mindful of what is going on in other peoples lives that you have no idea about. Life isn't always about you.

This last 6 months have been tough in many ways for many people, and you don't always know what is going on in someone else's life so just tread carefully.

For myself it's definitely been a strange time, I left my career of 26yrs to go Full-time at the Gym I have built from the Ground up only to be locked down a few more times. We have lost Members in that time who are just sick of the stop start nature of being in and out of Lockdown. I can't blame them, it's been tough to find that motivation. My Anxiety in that last Lockdown was probably the worst it's been in a long while, and to top it off My Dad was diagnosed with Cancer in his throat and he has a bit of a battle coming up over the next few months. At 79 it won't be easy, and not living near my Mum & Dad will make it worse for myself.

Coach George has lost two family Members in the last 1.5 weeks, poor bugger has two Funerals this week. Two funerals, trying to co-ordinate family members in two seperate countries via Zoom etc.

I have learnt so much in the last few weeks about being a coach, it's more than just teaching techniques on the mats, it may not be for some but it is for me. My Members are my family and I will have their backs no matter what. I will always have an ear for my family. Sometimes it's not as easy as it sounds, but I honestly wouldn't have it any other way.

We need to have each others backs, we need to push each other up and climb that hill of life together. I have made some huge adjustments in the last few weeks personally to try and get myself into a better place in life. I have started Lifting weights again 4 days a week, I try and also roll 4 nights a week and I been feeling fantastic for it. My Anxiety is much better, my body soreness is down and I'm just in a good place.

If any of you guys ever need a hand with anything, wether it be talking re mental health issues, Anxiety, personal problems, anything just reach out as you are Never Alone while you are in The Mildura BJJ family. Life can be a battle at time, but don't let it get on top of you, and most of all get yourself onto those mats as they have amazing healing powers.

Thank you all again for your time and remember I'm just a txt, an inbox, whatever away. And please be mindful of others, if they aren't acting "normal" there is probably a good reason for it.

Cheers Coach
